RUSSIAN MILITARY BASE TO HOLD EARLY PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

BISHKEK, MARCH 13 (RIA NOVOSTI) - A Russian air-force base in Kant, Kyrgyzstan, is to hold early presidential elections March 13. This was disclosed at the Russian Embassy.

According to the embassy spokesman, Russian servicemen, as well as members of their families living in the local military cantonment, will cast their ballots at a restricted polling station on the air-force base's territory. About 350 Russian citizens are now staying in Kant.

Officials of the Russian embassy and consulate will join the visiting election commission.

Approximately 20,000 Russian citizens now living in Kyrgyzstan will be able to vote Sunday in Bishkek, Osh, Tokmak and some other large republican cities.
