MOSCOW, March 12, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Galina Amelkina). Chairman of the Chechen Election Commission Abdul-Kerim Arsakhanov is to address Chechens on the local TV and call on them to put off their affairs and to vote in the presidential elections on March 14.
"I will tell voters on the political importance of elections and will call on them to come to polling stations on Sunday," Arsakhanov told RIA Novosti on Friday. "There are 596,500 voters in Chechnya," he added.
"Voting will not take much time and it will be useful for everyone," he noted.
"Participating in the elections we will show that the Chechen Republic is actively involved in the formation of the Russian policy," Arsakhanov stressed.
