MOSCOW, March 9th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) -The state is going to increase its participation in Gazprom, said Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.
We will return to this issue in the near future, he said.
"It is yet premature to speak of any specific decisions, but we have a strategic vision of the need for such a step," the Gazprom CEO said in an interview with the Itogi magazine.
As for the gas sector reform, Mr. Miller said the company had relevant proposals to the new government. In particular, at issue is the general scheme for the Russian gas sector development, i.e. where, when and what projects should be realized in the extraction, transportation and export of gas.
"It is essential to coordinate them and bring them in line with the market requirements," said Mr. Miller.
