UNDERGROUND BLAST: SUSPECTS DETAINED

MOSCOW, March 5, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - Some people involved in the terrorist act committed in the Moscow underground on February 6 have been detained, said head of the Main Public Order Department of the Russian Interior Ministry Nikolai Pershutkin.

"People involved in the terrorist act have been established, detained and are being interrogated on the matter," said Mr. Pershutkin.

He specified that the detainees were numerous, but their involvement remained to be proved.

The February 6 explosion in the Moscow underground claimed 40 lives, and left over 100 people injured.
