KIEV, March 4 (RIA Novosti) - Russian presidential candidate Ivan Rybkin keeps insisting that his trip to Ukraine a month ago was connected with the resolution of the Chechen war issue.

Mr. Rybkin was unable to answer journalists' question by what means he would like to settle the Chechen war problem.

He did not answer the question on whom of people's deputies or authority representatives of Ukraine he met with during his last trip, either.

Mr. Rybkin said he had notified Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma and Russian ambassador Viktor Chernomyrdin of his arrival.

Mr. Rybkin was unable to answer the question why he had voiced different versions of his trip to Ukraine in Moscow and in London. He just said the results of the blood test he had had in London had not revealed any narcotic substances present.
