RODINA TELLS LEADER TO RESIGN.

MOSCOW, March 4 (RIA Novosti) - The Rodina bloc in the State Duma may lose its leader, presidential hopeful Sergei Glazyev, on Thursday.

On Wednesday the deputy head of the Rodina Duma faction, Sergei Baburin, told journalists that that Mr. Glazyev was told to resign.

"He preferred taking individual actions to teamwork and proved to be unable to lead the faction," Mr. Baburin added.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, Dmitry Rogozin, a Rodina deputy speaker in the State Duma, said that Mr. Glazyev's resignation might be discussed at the faction's meeting on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Mr. Glazyev told journalists that 23 Rodina deputies had approved his resignation. According to Mr. Glazyev, "this was done by means of blackmail and threat."
