RUSSIA, SOUTH AFRICA COME OUT FOR DEVELOPMENT OF BILATERAL RELATIONS

MOSCOW, March 2, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Russia and South Africa come out for activation of bilateral relations. This was announced during Russian-South African political consultations involving Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Fedotov, the press and information department of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The sides highly assessed the level and intensity of political cooperation and pointed out the necessity of a more active realization of the potential in economic, scientific-technical, cultural and other spheres," the foreign ministry noted.

The consultations confirmed the possibility to expand productive cooperation between Russia and South Africa in the UN and on the international arena aimed at the development of strategic partnership.
