MOSCOW, March 2 (RIA Novosti) - About 150,000 Interior Ministry servicemen will take part in Russian presidential elections, the Interior Ministry troops press service reported on Tuesday.

"150,000 Interior Ministry servicemen [both conscripts and contract soldiers] will vote at 331 polling stations. The order of voting has already been determined," the press service said.

Several thousand servicemen will vote before the date of the elections because on the day of the elections they will be fulfilling tasks as members of the Joint Group of Troops in the North Caucasus or will be travelling in military trains.

About 2,000 servicemen will vote while on business trips. Those who will be on duty that day will put their ballots in the boxes that will be brought to them.

Commander-in-Chief of the Interior Ministry Troops General Vyacheslav Tikhomirov has given units the task of ensuring law and order before and during the elections.

The Joint Group of Troops will ensure security of the territorial and district election commissions and will carry out engineering reconnaissance in adjacent territories.
