MOSCOW, March 2, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- The Russian-French agreement on facilitating the visa regime is "actually ready", Oleg Belous, Director of the First European Board of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has said on Tuesday.
Relative negotiations are being held also with Italy, he continued.
The facilitating of the visa regime concerns only a few categories of citizens - young people below 25 years of age, men of culture and businessmen. The agreement intends non-collection of visa duties, cutting the time of the issue of visas etc., the Russian diplomat said.
It is one of the steps towards the elimination of the visa regime between Russia and France in the future, he said.
The indulgences do no go for tourists, he added.
