According to Rushailo, cooperation with Mongolia is developing in various fields, in particular at the level of the inter-governmental commission which, from the Russian side, is headed by acting vice prime minister of agriculture Alexei Gordeyev.
Rushailo reported that in the course of his Mongolian visit he is going to meet with the country's political leaders and hold some consultations on the issues of international and regional security. A cooperation plan is expected to be signed between the Russian Security Council and the National Security Council of Mongolia for 2004-2005.
Rushailo also said the Russian delegation would visit a number of memorials and meet with veterans and participants in those events shortly before the 65th anniversary of the events on Khalkin-Gol (the river bordering on China where in May, June and August 1939 the troops of militarist Japan made an attempt to break through to Mongolia but were repelled by the joint efforts of the Soviet and Mongolian troops).
