KRASNOYARSK, February 29, 2004 (RIA Novosti corr. Boris Ivanov) - A fire occurred in the Pushkin Drama Theater in Krasnoyarsk, Eastern Siberia, during the performance.

The scenery caught fire at 3.32pm Moscow time, according to the regional fire service. Some 50 square meters of the stage were on fire.

About 800 spectators were promptly evacuated. No casualties have been reported.

Firefighters have contained the flame now. The fire is, thus far, blamed on a short circuit in the lighting equipment.
