The Russian delegation headed by deputy acting foreign minister Anatoly Safonov included representatives of the Defense Ministry, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Federal Security Service, the Audit Chamber and the State Committee for Combating Drug Trafficking.

According to the Foreign Ministry's reports, special attention at the session was devoted to issues of rooting out the deep-lying causes of terrorism as well as the interaction of Russia and Pakistan in these directions within the UN framework.

The participants of the working group exchanged their assessments of the terrorist threats in various regions of the world - in Central Asia, in the Caucasus, the Middle East, in Afghanistan and Iraq. The parties stressed that the world community should make further efforts in helping to settle the situations in the crisis spots of the planet.
