FOUR VICTIMS OF WATER PARK CUPOLA COLLAPSE TURN TO COURT

MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 26 (RIA NOVOSTI) - Four victims of the collapsed roof of the Transvaal-Park recreation center have filed actions to the court for material and moral damage, lawyer Igor Trunov for the victims has told RIA Novosti.

The actions are addressed to the water park managers, Trunov said.

"The plaintiffs demand moral and material compensation," he said. Trunov specified that the total amount of the moral-damage actions adds up to 3.3 million dollars, material damage 50,000 rubles (approximately 1,700 dollars).

As a result of the water park roof cave-in on February 14, 27 people have died and over 100 turned for medical help.

On fact of the roof collapse and the death toll, the Moscow prosecutor's office has begun a criminal case on part two of article 109 (causing death by negligence) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
