PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, February 25. (RIA Novosti correspondent Oksana Guseva) - On Kamchatka (the Russian Far East) twenty bus passengers found themselves in snow captivity on the Klyuchi - Ust-Kamchatsk motor road, head of the Ust-Kamchatsky district Boris Nevzorov told journalists According to him, communication with the bus driver has been established but the efforts to free the bus which is 5 kilometres away from Ust-Kamchatsk have been unsuccessful so far.

The district head assured that the bus has enough foodstuffs for three days, and nothing is threatening its passengers.

The Kozyrevsk - Klyuchi - Ust-Kamchatsk section of the road is covered with snow and is closed for passage by all means of transportation. As Nevzorov said, alongside the bus, a few other motor vehicles got stuck in snow-drifts on this section of the road.

A violent snow storm and zero visibility do not allow the road services personnel to start clearing the road and evacuating the motor vehicles.

Ust-Kamchatsk which has a population of about 5,000 is now completely cut off from the world. According to the district head, its residents are provided with everything they need, and electricity, heat and water supply continues without fail.

According to weather-forecasters, bad weather, caused by a cyclone, will be raging in the Ust-Kamchatsk district for about 24 hours more.
