MOSCOW, February 24, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent) - A candidate for the new Prime Minister "will be approved within the forthcoming week," sources in the government have told RIA Novosti.
Acting Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Yakovlev told journalists that the new chairman of the Russian Cabinet and the government's structure would be determined "very soon".
Yakovlev believes that the Russian President "was right discharging the government before the presidential elections".
"Uncertainty and an unclear situation will not last long and it will become clear even before the elections what government we will have," he pointed out.
