MONEY FOR EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL INSTITUTIONS ALLOCATED FROM PRESIDENT'S RESERVE FUND

MOSCOW, February 20 (RIA Novosti) - Vladimir Putin signed an order to allocate 3.96 million rubles (about 138,000 dollars) for educational and 11.79 million rubles for social institutions from the Russian President's reserve fund in the first quarter of 2004. This is done to provide children's social protection in different Russian regions.

The money will go to two orphan homes in the Kirov region, an orphan home in Kaluga, a boarding school in Ust-Ordynsk (the Buryat autonomous area) and a school in the town of Rasskazovo (the Tambov region). The money will be used for capital repairs and new furniture.

Social-rehabilitation institutions for children and teenagers in the Kirov, Oryol, Tver, Ulyanovsk and Chelyabinsk regions will receive money on capital repairs.

Money to buy an ambulance car, medical equipment and implements will be given to the rehabilitation center for children with limited abilities in the town of Kirovo-Chepetsk (the Kirov region).
