MOSCOW, February 19, 2004. (RIA Novosti). The Russian Energy Minister decided to count volumes of greenhouse gas emissions by Russian enterprises till 2020. The concerned ministerial departments have been charged with relevant research already, Deputy Energy Minister Sergei Fedorov told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
The deputy minister is convinced that it will help to precisely determine the influence of Russian economy on climatic changes till 2020.
According to Fedorov, the level of energy carriers consumption by Russian enterprises will achieve the level of the pre-reform year of 1990 only in 2020.
"However, the structure of Russian economy by 2020 will undergo great changes. Nuclear and alternative power plants will be producing much more electric energy," the Russian Deputy Energy Minister said.
