MOSCOW, February 18, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Larisa Sayenko). Independent liberal deputies have formed a group in the State Duma.
"We would like to announce the formation of a group of independent deputies. We were elected by people having democratic and liberal views," Mikhail Zadornov, an initiator of the formation of the new group told a press conference on Wednesday.
The group includes only five parliamentarians: Vladimir Ryzhkov, Sergei Popov, Viktor Pokhmelkin, Galina Khovanskaya and Mikhail Zadornov. They expect other independent deputies to join their group in the future.
