MOSCOW, FEBRUARY 17, RIA NOVOSTI - The Turkish embassy has asked the Russian mass media and public to refrain from accusing the Turkish construction firms of the recent tragedy in the Moscow aquapark.

"We are sure that the Russian competent authorities will ascertain the causes for the Transvaal Park roof collapse and would like to ask for refraining from speculation and, especially, generalisations concerning Turkish construction companies," says a report circulated by the Turkish embassy in Moscow.

The Transvaal Park construction project in Moscow was implemented by Turkey's Kocak Inshaat company whose license has been recalled by the Russian State Construction Committee following the tragedy in the Moscow aquapark.

The Turkish ambassador in Moscow, Kurtulus Taskent, has offered condolences to relatives of those who were killed by the roof collapse in the swimming-pool on February 14.

The Turkish embassy has cited the positive experience of the work of Turkish builders in Russia, referring to the construction of major industrial facilities, apartment houses and supermarkets. The value of all the contracts accomplished by them amounts to $12 billion.
