SEVEROMORSK, February 17th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - Russian President Vladimir Putin spent most of the Tuesday morning on the navigation bridge of the heavy nuclear strategic submarine, Arkhangelsk, watching military exercises, Russian presidential spokesman Alexei Gromov told RIA Novosti.
Besides, the Russian president met the crew of the submarine. At lunch, he talked to sailors and sergeant majors serving on the contract and conscription basis.
The head of state also heard the report of Head of the Russian Navy Vladimir Kuroyedov on the current state and prospects of the Russian naval development.
