MOSCOW, February 15, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- Batyr Gorbakov, acting head of the interior department in the Karabulak district, Ingushetia, has been killed, a duty officer of the republic's interior ministry reported on the phone.
"The murder took place late last night, when Gorbakov was returning from work. An unknown individual fired at him from a gun and disappeared," the agency's interlocutor said. Gorbakov died of the wounds.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated.
