KAZAN, February 13 (RIA Novosti correspondent Larisa Sayenko) - Alexander Veshnyakov, the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC), sees "some excesses" in the way some state-controlled mass media outlets covered President Putin's meeting with his authorized representatives on Thursday.

Mr. Veshnyakov said he did not watch the meeting on TV, but promised that when he returned from Tatarstan (a republic in the Volga Federal District) the CEC will consider this situation.

Earlier presidential hopeful, Irina Khakamada forwarded an inquiry to the CEC concerning the TV coverage of Vladimir Putin's meeting with his authorized representatives. According to Ms. Khakamada, the live coverage of Mr. Putin's long reelection speech is a violation of the principle of equal access of all candidates to free broadcasting time.

KPRF presidential candidate, Nikolai Kharitonov is preparing a similar inquiry.
