MOSCOW, February 11, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia met at the negotiation table today. Summit achievements allow to hope that bilateral relations will change their content and expand scope, says Sergei Prikhodko, deputy chief of Kremlin staff.

"You know what the Russian top was thinking of Georgian developments. It is a thing of the past now. What really matters today is that Mikhail Saakashvili is a reliable political leader. He has shouldered responsibilities for Georgia. He is a partner with whom we can frankly talk on practical issues," Mr. Prikhodko said to the media after the negotiations.
