MOSCOW, February 11, 2004. /RIA Novosti correspondent Sergei Zelentsov/ - Russia and Jordan have proposed to set up an inter-government trade and economic commission.

"It is necessary to take joint action to develop bilateral trade and economic relations. For this purpose we have proposed to set up a joint inter-government trade and economic commission," Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said after talks with his Jordanian counterpart Marwan Muasher.

The Russian party is interested in its companies to take part in different projects in Jordan, Ivanov added.

The talks touched upon a gas pipeline construction project in Jordan, he specified.

Muasher said in his turn that cooperation between Russian and Jordanian companies will contribute to fulfilling projects both within bilateral relations and in the region in general.
