MOSCOW, February 9. (RIA Novosti correspondent) - Frontier guards from the Russian Federal Security Service (FSS) South-Eastern Regional Border Control confiscated over 21 kilograms of heroin.

Last Sunday frontier guards detained a citizen of Kirghizia who drove his "Audi" to Russia from Kazakhstan, the FSS press service reported. During a customs examination 12 containers with heroin, weighting over 11.7 kilograms were found in the car's gas tank.

"Eight more packs with heroin, totaling 9.4 kilograms were found 50 meters from the control station "Gornyak". Most likely the drug dealers panicked and tried to get rid of the drugs before the station," the FSS press service reported.

On the same day, a bag with over 5 kilograms of opium was found on the Tajik-Afghan border.
