PREMIERS OF RUSSIA AND BELARUS TO DISCUSS PREPARATION OF DRAFT AGREEMENT ON SINGLE CURRENCY

MOSCOW, February 6 (RIA Novosti) - The Permanent Committee of the Union State of Russia and Belarus reported that a regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State will be held in Moscow on February 10.

The Prime Ministers of Russia and Belarus are expected to discuss the preparation of a draft agreement on a single currency.

Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky of Belarus noted on Friday that Belarus has fulfilled all of the conditions for introducing the Russian ruble as the only legitimate currency in the Union State's territory.

The Council of Ministers will also consider the questions of the Union State's fuel and energy resources for 2004 and the transportation ministries of Belarus and Russia taking joint measures to form a Union State transportation system.

Questions concerning the preparation of an agreement between the two countries' governments on using single migration maps, the implementation of the Union State's program, "Establishment of a Single Automated Information System of the Union State's Customs Committee for 2003-2005," and a draft program of agreed upon actions in the sphere of the foreign policy of the states (parties to the Treaty on Establishment of the Union State for 2004-2005) will be discussed.
