MOSCOW, February 8, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Afghan drug plantation yield has increased nine-fold since the Taliban regime fell. A greater part of drug profits falls into terrorist hands in and outside Afghanistan, Sergei Ivanov, Russia's Defence Minister, said to a news conference in Munich.

Civilian teams are working in Afghanistan to raise particular provinces from the ruins, he added. The minister hopes activists will see for themselves what's going on.
