MOSCOW, February 6, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent Alexandra Chebanu) - United Russia's General Council Secretary, and the party's first deputy chairman Valery Bogomolov called today's Moscow underground explosion an "act of vandalism".

"This explosion in the capital city shows that opponents of the stabilisation process in Russia, opponents of order and normal development of civil society have not stopped their attempts to destabilise the atmosphere and cause a negative reaction towards the government," Mr. Bogomolov told RIA Novosti.

"We will be able to stop these terrorist attacks only when our society becomes consolidated," United Russia's representative said. "Only if people unite their efforts to stop this terror, special services can successfully fight it."
