The attempt to create an organization alternative to the Rodina bloc but of the same name on the initiative of Glazyev has finally exposed disagreements within the bloc, Baburin said.
"These disagreements have created an atmosphere where it is no longer possible to keep silent or stay aside. Mutual accusations and stubbornness are damaging the reputation of the entire bloc and, most importantly, undermining the electors' confidence," his written statement says.
He told journalists that in the evening of February 2 this issue would be discussed at a session of the bloc's Higher Council.
Replying to the question about the possibility of replacing the bloc's leader, Baburin said that "everything depends on the explanations, which Sergei Glazyev will give to us on the events of January 30." He added that a compromise was impossible.
On January 30 Sergei Glazyev convened a constituent congress of the Rodina people's and patriotic union without the consent of the party's other leaders.
