MOSCOW, February 2nd, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - According to the initial reports, an explosive device went off in an apartment block in central Moscow, a source in the Moscow department for civil defence and emergencies reported.

"Presumably, a small handmade explosive device went off in front of Flat 222 on the first floor in 10 Bolshoi Gnezdikovsky Lane," said the source.
