MOSCOW, January 28, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- Vladimir Bryntsalov has withdrawn his name from the list of presidential nominees and will not submit signatures in his support to the Central Election Commission. Bryntsalov announced this to journalists on Wednesday.
Thus, the number of presidential nominees has been reduced to seven. The Central Election Commission already registered two nominees: Nikolai Kharitonov (the Communist Party of the Russian Federation) and Oleg Malyshkin (the Liberal-Democratic Party of Russia). Other five nominees have submitted signatures in their support to the Central Election Commission, which is now checking their authenticity.
The final list of presidential nominees will be announced by February 9th.
