MOSCOW, January 27th, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - The United States is ready to share its experience with Russia in the formation of a professional army, US Secretary of State Colin Powell said at his meeting with representatives of the Russian public in Moscow.
That was his answer to a question put by a representative of the Russian Soldiers' Mothers Committee.
Colin Powell said that he discussed this question with Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov.
The Secretary of State, who is a former general himself, expressed readiness to help personally with advice in this difficult matter.
