MOSCOW, January 24, 2004. /RIA Novosti/. Russia will be striving for equal cooperation with the USA, NATO and the European Union, Head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Anatoly Kvashnin said at a session of the Academy of Military Sciences on Saturday.
"We shall be pressing for equal cooperation with America, NATO, the European Union, China and France," Kvashnin noted.
According to him, the defense tasks cannot be limited to the state defense in the military sense of this word.
Russia should win allies and partners and neutralize rivals, Kvashnin stressed.
In his words, Russia will be striving for integration into world economy and will continue counter-terrorist cooperation.
