    RUSSIAN-BRAZILIAN COMMISSION TO PONDER TRADE-ECONOMIC COOPERATION

    MOSCOW, JANUARY 20. /RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT ANDREI MALOSOLOV/ -- On Friday the Russian Government House will house a sitting of the Russian side of the Russian-Brazilian commission for trade-economic cooperation, led by Vice-Premier Boris Aleshin.

    His aide Alina Radchenko said that matters of bilateral trade-economic cooperation, Russian-Brazilian relations and cooperation for peaceful uses of space would be considered at the sitting.

    Energy cooperation between the two countries may also be in consideration. As well as financial and interbank cooperation, interaction through the Russian Ministry for the Antimonopoly Policy in agriculture, Alina Radchenko said.

    Vice-Premier Boris Aleshin told journalists recently that Russia has ambitious plans for space cooperation with a number of countries, such as Brazil. "As regards Brazil, we are not only interested in the supplies of meat but also in the capabilities of the Brazilian space centre having the same technical characteristics as the French Kourou centre", Vice-Premier Aleshin said on Wednesday.

    A few days before, Russian Vice-Premier and Agricultural Minister Alexei Gordeev had meetings with Brazilian delegates. On their results, he said that within two weeks the economic development and agricultural ministries would consider increasing Brazil's quota on general meat shipments to Russia.
