On Wednesday the Russian defense minister will visit an Indian Air-Force base and the 50th detached airborne brigade disposed near Agra. Then Sergei Ivanov will see the Taj-Mahal mausoleum and the Agra Fort fortress.
After that the Minister will participate in a formal dinner on behalf of the commander of the 50th airborne brigade after which he will fly to Moscow.
In the course of the visit on the day before, during which the packet contract for delivery of the Admiral Gorshkov aircraft-carrying cruiser with on-deck aviation - the Mig-29K aircraft worth 1.5 billion dollars was signed, Sergei Ivanov held a number of talks in New Delhi. He met, in particular, with Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee and other officials.
Sergei Ivanov discussed the situation in the region, as well as the questions of struggle against international terrorism and of stability in the region.
