MOSCOW, January 19th, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent Pyotr Goncharov) -- There will be no problems between the Russian and US military bases located at the Kant military airfield and at international Manas airport on the outskirts of the Kyrgyz capital respectively, said Kyrgyz Prime Minister Nikolai Tanayev.
Bishkek does not rule it out that "these air bases will fulfil the same anti-terrorist tasks." "They are the military facilities of the two countries faced with the task of doing away with the sources of terrorism," said Tanayev.
In his words, the fact that the forces of the anti-terrorist coalition are staying on Kyrgyz territory "is an integral part of the logical scheme of its security guarantees."
