MOSCOW, January 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin met Friday President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Yuri Osipov.
The head of state said that a session of the President's Scientific Council would be timed for the 280th anniversary of the Academy of Sciences to be marked on February 8th.
Osipov in turn said that this session would consider the personnel potential of the scientific and technological sector.
The President of the Russian Academy of Sciences continued that the first summarising volume of the Grand Russian encyclopedia, called Russia, would be released soon. In his words, now the encyclopedia is being prepared for publication.
Besides, Osipov said that the first two volumes were being drafted. This work is difficult and involves academicians, scholars, federal ministers and State Duma deputies, said Osipov.
