MOSCOW, January 16 (RIA Novosti) - The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) has refused to participate in the election of new State Duma committee leaders, says a KPRF press release.

The election of new committee leaders is scheduled for today. Earlier, the State Duma speaker, Boris Gryzlov, said United Russia candidates would be in charge of 29 State Duma committees. "Other parties will nominate their own candidates, but considering United Russia has the majority in the Duma, it will probably win the elections," Mr. Gryzlov said.

KPRF will not nominate party members in the election, the party's press release says.
