US SECRETARY OF STATE TO VISIT MOSCOW IN LATE JANUARY

MOSCOW, January 15, 2004. /RIA Novosti/. US Secretary of State Colin Powell is to visit Moscow in late January, a diplomatic source in the Russian capital told RIA Novosti.

According to him, Powell will arrive in Moscow from Tbilisi where he will attend the inauguration ceremony of new Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili on January 25.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Linn Paso, currently on a routine trip to Tbilisi, also reported on Powell's visit to Moscow. According to him, the talks in Moscow will focus on the withdrawal of Russian military bases from Georgia.
