MOSCOW, JANUARY 14. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- Russian specialists are working to create a new missile for the S-300 antiaircraft system, Vladimir Mikhailov, commander-in-chief of the Russian Air Force, told the press conference in Moscow.
"We are working on a missile of a much longer range", he said.
Work is also in full swing on a new air defence system, S-400. The antiaircraft missile system Pantsyr, on which we pin high hopes, is in development, Mikhailov said.
The commander-in-chief of the Air Force said that number of target practice by air defence troops on combat duty increased two times in 2003.
