MOSCOW, January 12. (Correspondent RIA Novosti). Vladimir Putin underlined the importance of the agreement signed with Kazakhstan on the extension of the lease on the cosmodrome Baikonur until 2050.
Speaking at the weekly Monday conference with government officials at the Kremlin, the president noted that in the course of the negotiations in Kazakhstan understanding had been reached on increasing collaboration in space, power engineering, economics, border patrol and on the fight against terror.
The head of state noted that during the official visit to Kazakhstan, that took place on the 9-10 of January, many important documents were signed.
However, he added, "our achievement does not lie in these documents, but rather it lies in the level and the nature of our relations."
