PYATIGORSK, JANUARY 9. 2004. (RIA NOVOSTI). A secret cache with weapons and ammunition was found in Ingushetia (republic in the North Caucasus, bordering on Ingushetia) during a joint operation of police and the Federal Security Service.
RIA Novosti was told on Friday at the press service of the Interior Ministry's Main Department for the Southern Federal District that the cache was found during a search in the house in Nizhniye Achaluki village.
The officers confiscated two Kalashnikov sub-machine guns, an anti-tank grenade launcher, an APS hand gun with cartridges, IZH pistol, nine magazaines, six grenades, 700 cartridges, two radio stations, and five fuses.
In addition, 300,000 roubles (about $10,000) and $7,000 were seized from the two detained weapons owners.
A criminal case has been launched. Investigation is being conducted.
