OSCE TO ASSESS SHORTLY GEORGIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

VIENNA, January 3rd, 2003 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - The OSCE mission intends to promptly give its preliminary assessment of the presidential elections in Georgia due on January 4th on the next day, runs the OSCE statement circulated Saturday.

The international mission of observers at the presidential elections in Georgia will consist of the OSCE ODIHR (Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights), the OSCE Assembly and the Council of Europe, and the European Parliament.

In all, the international mission of observers to monitor the Georgian presidential elections will consist of 474 observers from 18 OSCE countries.
