MAKHACHKALA, January 2 (RIA Novosti correspondent Dekabr Beibutov) - After a five-day search, Dagestan rescuers discovered under heaps of snow a body of servicemen Vitaly Zinovyev in the federal republic's Tsumadinsky district on January 1.

Zinovyev was considered missing during an anti-terrorist operation in the mountains to eliminate militants who tried to infiltrate into Georgia through Dagestan's territory from December 15, 2003.

On December 28, the republic's Emergencies Ministry received a message that three servicemen got under an avalanche near Metroda. Six rescuers searched hard from top to bottom the 2,500m height until they found Vitaly Zinovyev's body.

The emergencies ministry does not have information yet where Zinovyev was called up from, when he was born and which military rank he had, a ministry duty officer said.

On Friday the rescuers are completing their work at the site. The fate of the two other servicemen remains unknown.
