Ukraine Loses Over 185 Soldiers in Donetsk Direction in Past Day

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Kiev has lost more than 185 troops in the Donetsk direction over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

During the past day, the Russian armed forces repelled two attacks in the Donetsk direction, seven attacks in the Zaporozhye direction, two in the South Donetsk direction, and two in the Kupyansk direction.

"Enemy losses in the Donetsk direction amounted to more than 185 Ukrainian troops, three armored combat vehicles, two vehicles, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery mount, as well as a Grad Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) combat vehicle," the ministry stated.

Ukraine also lost up to 160 servicemen in the Zaporozhye direction and up to 100 soldiers in the South Donetsk direction, the ministry added.

Moreover, Russian air defense systems have intercepted three Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) guided bombs, 27 drones and one High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) shell over the given period, the ministry reported.

Krasny Liman Direction

Furthermore, Russian troops repelled two attacks of Ukrainian forces in the Krasny Liman area, with the Kiev regime losing up to 60 servicemen and six pieces of equipment, the ministry noted.

"In the Krasny Liman direction, two attacks by units of the 12th Special Forces Brigade and the 42nd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the settlement of Kuzmino of the Lugansk People's Republic were repelled by coordinated actions of units of the Tsentr Battlegroup, strikes by aviation, artillery fire and heavy flame-throwing systems. The enemy's losses in the Krasny Liman direction were up to 60 Ukrainian servicemen, two armoured combat vehicles, two pickup trucks, a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery unit and a D-30 howitzer," the ministry stated.

Kherson Direction

Russian units destroyed up to 35 Ukrainian servicemen, three vehicles, a US-made M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery unit and two D-30 howitzers in the Kherson direction over the past 24 hours," according to the ministry.

"Up to 35 Ukrainian servicemen, three vehicles, a US-made M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery unit, as well as two D-30 howitzers were destroyed in the Kherson direction as a result of strikes overnight," the ministry emphasized.

Kupyansk Direction

The Kupyansk direction also saw losses among Ukrainian troops: Russian soldiers of the Zapad Battlegroup drove two attacks of the Kiev regime off, destroying up to 30 enemy servicemen and six pieces of equipment, the ministry reported.

"In the Kupyansk direction, units of the Zapad Battlegroup of troops in the course of active actions supported by aviation and artillery fire repelled two enemy attacks near the settlements of Sinkovka (Kharkov region) and Novoselovkoye (Lugansk People's Republic). Up to 30 Ukrainian servicemen, two armored combat vehicles, three vehicles and a D-20 howitzer were destroyed," the ministry pointed out.
