Crimea is actively working on increasing its exports of wine and other products, according to Irina Kiviko, the Republic of Crimea's Finance Minister and deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers, speaking during the II International Business Forum 'Time for Export'.
"We are actively scaling up the export of Crimean wine to the CIS countries, sending organic fertilisers from the nearest neighbouring countries to Latin America, developing the export of tourist services, exporting fur products to Kazakhstan and many other enticing projects," she said.
Kiviko recalled that new measures to support business have been unveiled by state and regional authorities.
For example, the Russian Export Centre (REC - part of VEB.RF) helps companies to take part in major international exhibitions and business missions, as well as in placing 'Made in Russia' food products in tasting pavilions in China, Vietnam, Egypt and the UAE.
For the first time this year, the regional export support centre will launch the acceleration program 'Export afterburner' with the REC, which will be attended by Crimean entrepreneurs.
"REC is ready to support not only large, but also small companies in Crimea that are engaged in foreign economic activity. There are special 'boxed' products for them," Vladislav Esin, head of the REC office in Krasnodar, said.
"In today's conditions, which have made business more adaptive and responsive to the variability of the external environment, our region strives to fully realise its export potential, as well as to strengthen the share of the presence of Crimean products on the international market, increase brand awareness of the peninsula as an export region," Dmitry Sheryako, the Republic of Crimea's minister of economic development, said during the II International Business Forum 'Time for Export'.
