10:16 GMT 17.11.2021 (Updated: 15:16 GMT 28.05.2023) LONDON (Sputnik) - UK inflation jumped to 4.2% in the 12 months to October 2021, its highest level in nearly a decade, pushed by increasing fuel and energy prices, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported on Wednesday.
"The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 4.2% in the 12 months to October 2021, up from 3.1% in September," the ONS said.
According to the report, this is the highest
12-month inflation rate since November 2011, when the CPI annual inflation rate was 4.8%.
