Traffic on Motorway in German Bavaria Halted Due to Armed Hostage-Taking Situation - Reports

It is not yet clear what exactly caused the incident. A witness said that the hijacker has a gun on him. Three detonations were said to have been heard at the scene.
Traffic on the A9 Bavarian highway between the towns of Hilpoltstein and Greding has been blocked in both directions on Tuesday due to a reported armed man on a tourist bus, according to a statement from police.
Later law enforcement said that the perpetrator was arrested.
Some reports claimed earlier that the criminal has taken hostages. He was said to be armed and "shouting weird" things.

"The bus driver is currently trying to calm the person down," a police spokesman told the Tag24.

All passengers were had been said to be escorted out of the vehicle, with the driver the only remaining person locked inside with the criminal. According to Bild, three passengers were still on the bus with them.
The news outlet also reported that three "detonations" were heard at the scene.
A large contingent of police cordoned off the highway for kilometres, with SEK police tactical units deployed at the scene.
