Russia’s lower house of parliament, the State Duma, has adopted in the first reading a bill banning the advertisement of occult services.
The bill would ban adverts for sorcery, magic, voodoo and witchcraft. Advertising the services of healers or people who say they can cure by mystic methods is also banned unless they have a qualification recognized by Russian law.
“The bill aims at protecting people from the pushy advertisement of various pseudo specialists and therefore will preserve their physical and moral health,” the document says.
