BISHKEK, March 26 (RIA Novosti) - The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan has acknowledged the legality of the recently formed single-chamber parliament.

According to CEC member Takhir Sadykov, eight of ten CEC members voted for the registration of candidates.

The registration of deputies of the new parliament, which caused unrests in the country, followed the decision of the Supreme Court, which had canceled the registration earlier this week.

"The decision of the Supreme Court is illegal as it was made under pressure of the crowd. After the announcement of the registration results the Central Election Commission can hold a session, for instance, tomorrow," newly elected MP Alisher Sabirov told RIA Novosti.

On Saturday the house of people's representatives (the upper chamber) said it would preserve its authorities before the June 26 presidential elections and did not acknowledge the new parliament.
